Wise Women
This portrait series on women over the age of 40 began as a desire to shift the narrative around women and aging. After midlife many women experience an awakening and step into a Self that is more radical, honest, and powerful than she has ever felt. The pervasive narrative is that everything goes downhill after 40 and women lose their beauty and value to the world, when the reality is women step more into their full selves and take command of their lives in various ways. The women highlighted in this show come from a diverse array of experiences and backgrounds, and every one is living their version of an authentic and powerful life. They are the Wise Women, and serve as beacons to light the way to changed perception.

Stories to be Told
MELISSA PORTER
August 4, 2023 - September 30, 2023
“When you can tell your story and it doesn't make you cry you know you have healed”. - unknown
I believe art has the power to heal and good storytelling can crack you wide open. This body of work was created to do just that. It is a result of my creative practice which is designed to help me process and heal from the trauma of narcissistic abuse and the gaslighting I experienced in the 20 years that was my marriage.

I’ve worked through the hard stuff, learned to love myself and I don’t get triggered as much as I used to because I have found support, friendship and love. It is because of this love and support that I am able to bring this showing to Pinwheel Gallery, a safe space to express visually what words can not say.
Woven
STEFFANY BUTTS-BOUCHER
October 6, 2023 - November 17, 2023
Our journeys are intricately woven tapestries, our ancestors' energy entwined with our own, birth to quietus. A collection of our experiences, our stories, the languages we speak, our
interests, feelings and personal favorites interlaced. Each day we contribute to our journey and each breath is a single stitch within our composition.
Woven is a body of work from Steffany Butts-Boucher’s journey that includes mixed media drawings, tapestries, soft sculpture and embroidery.

KIKI MACLEAN
NORTH GALLERY
February 2nd - February 23rd
"To look at one of my paintings is to look through my eyes. I see the world as patterns.– three dimensional objects become flat, two dimensional images. I concentrate on turning and combining the tiniest details into a larger abstract image that manifests itself into the intended subject matter."
